I don’t know if you know, but I found my groove over at JustTyra through card making! There is a lot that card making has taught me, but for now, I wanted to share two things I adore about card making!
- Creativity on a Small Canvas – The most popular size for handmade cards are typically 4.25 by 5.5 inches. (roughly 114 x 140 mm). You can use an A2 Envelope once you’re done. That is just enough space to try anything on a small scale — stamping, watercoloring, mixed media, you name it.
- It’s the gift that keeps on giving – Folks, it’s the process and end product that are the gifts. Let me explain. Card making is a way for me to bring my everyday inspiration and crazy imagination to life. The act of using my hands to cut paper, play with color, use inspiring sentiments has a calming and soothing effect. Best of all, once I’m done, I can turn around and give that card I poured my creativity into to someone else to enjoy, if only for a moment.
If you don’t know where to get started, consider participating in card challenges — its’ so fun to share and encourage other makers! You are sure to make friends along the way.
Sending you off with crafty wishes and washi tape dreams
