Two Dollar Tuesday: Stamp, Color Large & In Charge

Two Dollar Tuesday comes to you courtesy of a trip to Home Depot, a home improvement store..  At $1.97USD, a 8 x 10 acrylic sheet typically used for picture frames and artwork protection makes a great “stamping block” for larger acrylic background stamps.  The surface size is also ideal for a little color mixing and mixed media. I used a make-n-take from CHA as inspiration to create this weathered map using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Poodle Pink & Venetian Sunset and a Flourishes background stamp. The ability to hold the acrylic sheet to “swirl” or mixed the colors allowed some control over the color flow.

Using the acrylic sheet to apply the map background stamp allowed me to see where I was stamping and ensure the ink transferred from the stamp onto the paper (video demo coming soon).   Now I am curious to see what I can do with a larger sheet for just a few dollars more.
