Inspired by all the tweets from CHA showcasing the latest in paper crafting trends, I rummaged through my stash to see if I had any tools or paper with similarities to some of the newer trends. (It’s the first thing I do before heading to my local or online craft store) Here’s what I found:
I am seeing wood grain appear in several different product lines and I was all too happy to find my Blockbuster stamp featuring four different patterns, including wood grain, on each side of this cube. I am using Project Life this year as my primary method of scrapbooking and so I created a wood grain patterned card, which I will most likely use as a starter card.
The distressed look never gets old and so I flipped my trusty blockbuster stamp over to the distressed side to make a stone washed looking notecard with pink distressing. I love the retro 1980s look of this card.
I unearthed this old star punch which I used to create this “Celebrate” notecard. I added red stickles to the stars. Although simple, this card feels like the 4th of July and my old star punch lives to see another day!
These projects involved using the latest paper crafting trends as inspiration for combining the old and the new into a new look.
